Kazan, Russia (AFP) – Leaders of the BRICS group of emerging economies on Wednesday pledged to strengthen co-operation to cut greenhouse gas emissions while condemning “unilateral” climate measures imposed on their countries.

“We will strengthen co-operation on a range of solutions and technologies that contribute to the reduction and capture of greenhouse gas emissions,” the group said in a joint statement, but condemned “unilateral measures imposed under the pretext of combating climate change”.
