EU chief Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday said Europe remained committed to the Paris climate agreement, after US President Donald Trump announced Washington’s withdrawal from the deal on his first day in office.

“The Paris agreement continues to be the best hope of all humanity. So Europe will stay the course, and keep working with all nations that want to protect nature and stop global warming,” von der Leyen said in a keynote speech at a gathering of the world’s elites in Davos.
