Paris, France (AFP) – The OECD said Wednesday that many governments need to raise property and environmental taxes alongside efforts to contain spending as countries face higher debt.

“Without sustained action, future debt burdens will rise significantly further and scope to react to future downside shocks will be increasingly limited,” the Paris-based OECD said in its world economic outlook report.
